At the landfill, we learned all about what happens to our garbage, how to compost and how to help keep our city and planet healthy. At the Greenhouse, we learned about different flowers, plants and animals. Check out the pictures below :)

Our Grade 1s and 2s celebrated the day by participating in a number of different activities that revolved around the number 100. They created necklaces with 100 froot loops, decorated gumball machines with 100 different types of “gumballs,” and created portraits of themselves at 100 years old! Check out the photos below:

Students have experimented with different measuring tools such as string, snap cubes, straws, and centimeter rulers.  We have been practicing using math vocabulary  to describe an object’s size as well.  Students have also been practicing estimating measurements.

At home, have your child practice measuring objects from around the house! A math journal is a great resource for your child to communicate their thinking and practice using math terminology.

Take a look below- they turned out fantastic!
